Social & Emotional Development
Our Social Work team at VOICE actively supports students from kindergarten through 8th grade, offering counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning through programs like "Mind, Body, Heart." Students benefit from workshops on emotional expression, problem-solving, and bullying prevention, while middle schoolers receive comprehensive sex education. Known for their accessibility and commitment, the Social Work team also coordinates events and mentoring programs to address student needs. Our discipline approach focuses on prevention and proactive measures, drawing from methodologies like Love & Logic and restorative justice. We prioritize understanding and growth over punishment, fostering a culture of responsibility and community restoration.
Inclusive & Responsive
At VOICE, we champion the belief that every student can learn, recognizing and celebrating the diversity of learning styles that make each student unique. Through a collaborative approach, we meet students where they are, supporting their academic growth regardless of English proficiency, disabilities, or individual education plans (IEPs). Our integrated co-taught classrooms pair general education and special education teachers to tailor lessons to each student's needs, supplemented by related services like occupational therapy and counseling. Our intervention and special education team provides targeted support, working in tandem with administration and social work to ensure a unified approach to student success across the school.
